How coverage is decided

This is the part most sites in this category leave vague, so it is set out directly.

The scope is narrow and commercially determined at the product level. One product is covered in catalogue form: Norton AntiVirus Plus. That is the product StrataSpace has an affiliate arrangement with. We do not claim to survey the market, and a product’s absence from this site means only that we have no arrangement with its vendor — not that it is worse, and not that it was considered and rejected.

The category material is written independently of that. Six of the seven entries explain the subject itself and name no commercial product at all. They describe detection methods, malware categories, platform defences, comparison method, scam patterns and consumer rights, and they would read the same way if the affiliate arrangement ended tomorrow.

Order follows dependency, not commission. The entries are sequenced so that ideas appear after the ideas they rely on. The product entry sits at the end of that reasoning because it only makes sense once the category is understood. It is not placed first, and it is not repeated across pages that have nothing to do with it.

Unverified means unverified. Where we cannot confirm a product fact from information available to us, we say so and point to the vendor. We do not restate marketing copy as though it were a finding. The product entry contains a table of open questions for exactly this reason.

What this site does not do

How the site is funded

Through affiliate commission on one product. When a reader follows the paid link on the product entry and later subscribes on the vendor’s own site, the vendor pays StrataSpace a referral fee. The reader’s price is unaffected, and the arrangement does not extend to editorial control. The affiliate disclosure page explains it in full, including what we are told about a referral and what we are not.

Every paid link on this site carries a disclosure immediately beside it, points directly at the destination without passing through a redirect on this domain, and is marked as sponsored in its markup so that search engines can identify it.

How the site is built

StrataSpace is a set of static HTML pages with one stylesheet and one small script. The script opens the menu on narrow screens and opens the question panels on the comparison page. That is all the code on the site.

There is no analytics, no advertising tag, no conversion pixel, no chat widget, no embedded video and no third-party library. The site sets no cookies and uses no browser storage, which is why you will not find a consent banner here — there is nothing to consent to. No fonts, images or scripts are loaded from other hosts, so visiting a page requires no request to any server other than this one. The privacy policy and cookie policy describe the same arrangement in the detail those documents require.

There are no forms anywhere on the site and no field to type into. Contact happens through an email address, which means there is no reader information for us to hold.

Accuracy, sources and corrections

General claims are linked to a primary source where one exists, and phrased as general guidance where a specific source cannot be cited. The Australian bodies referenced throughout — the Australian Cyber Security Centre, Scamwatch, the ACCC, the OAIC and the eSafety Commissioner — are described only in their actual roles and linked so that a reader can check.

Software changes. Anything on this site may become out of date between reviews, and the vendor’s own documentation is always more current than a third-party description of it. The date of the last review appears in the footer of every page.
